Anbaran (Persian: عنبران) is a small Iranian town situated approximately 17 miles north-northeast of Ardabil. The population consists of 9000 Talysh speakers. Anbaran’s map coordinates are 38.49N and 48.42E and the altitude is 1100(from sea level)approximately. Anbaran consist of two district which a main street separated them from each other. North-Anbaran( we call Anbarane Olia in persian) is a small village which is located in North-Eastern of town by 6km distance between them. The name of Anbaran is probably extracted from fragrant annual herbs named عنبر (‘ánbar in Persian). This plant is grown near to the joint frontier of Iran and Azerbaijan. There are different kind of fruit trees which products consist of apple, pears, almond, walnut, apricot, peach and etc. Poplar has the most acreage among fruitless trees in Anbaran.There are several big valley and mountains for hiking toward the international borderline. Animal husbandry is also the most popular occupation of farmers.
