Allies from the Prince of Persia series

The following is a list of allies in the Prince of Persia series of video games.

Princess Farah

Farah in "The Sands of Time"

In , Farah is the daughter of the Maharajah of India. After her father's kingdom had been attacked by King Shahraman of Persia she is kidnapped by one of the Persian invaders and is kept as a slave. She is also one of few survivors who were not changed when the Sands of Time were released. This is because of the medallion she was wearing. She initially detests the Prince for not only capturing her and her kingdom, but also for being responsible for unleashing the Sands of Time. Yet, they are forced to work together to undo the Prince's mistake and ensure that the Vizier does not use the Sands of Time for his own purposes. Over the course of the game, as Farah and the Prince cooperate, they become very close to each other, yet neither of them dares to speak the love they feel for each other. The tension that exists between the two ultimately culminates into a romance. Farah is angry when the Prince hesitates to undo the Sands of Time at the last moment, where he questions her trust and loyalty. Their brief conversation gives the Vizier time to blow them into a tomb.

It is highly hinted upon that the couple had sexual intercourse, as a scene with them both naked in a pool 'fades to black' as they kiss. Then again, that could just be the Prince waking up, as there is some ambiguity as to whether the scene was a dream or reality. He awakens upon the top of a tomb (where the two had originally fallen), only to discover that the Dagger of Time is missing, along with his sword. Not only that, but Farah herself has gone missing as well. Protected by the medallion, he chases the young woman throughout the ruins of the Tower of Dawn upon realizing she plans to use the Dagger to fix time herself. Unfortunately, the Prince arrives too late to save Farah from being knocked over the edge of a hole in the floor above the treasure vault of the tower. He grabs hold of the blade end of the Dagger in a desperate attempt to save her, but Farah lets go upon seeing the Prince grimacing in pain and bleeding over the dagger. She whispers a single word as she falls to her death, the same word that opened the door to the dream sequence. The Prince is unable to save her from death because she had used all of the sand in the dagger. Upon defeating the hordes of Sand creatures Farah was originally battling against, the Prince puts the Sands back into the Hourglass. All that has happened becomes forgotten and Farah has no recollection of their romance, as time reverses itself to the events prior to the game.

Throughout the game, it is implied that the Prince is telling a story of some sorts to somebody. The introduction cinematic shows him entering someone's room and explaining the concept of time. Lines spoken during the game when the Prince dies and when the game is saved further suggest the Prince is narrating a story. After the Sands of Time are returned to the Hourglass and the Prince visits Farah in her bedroom, it is revealed that the Prince was telling the story to Farah, and that the tale was actually the events of the entire game that was just played. This was done with the intentions of warning her about the attack and her traitorous adviser, the Vizier.

The Vizier and the Prince have a final battle, of which the Prince is the victor. He gives Farah the dagger, but before he leaves, Farah asks him his name and the Prince simply replies, "Just call me... Kakolookiyam". He vanishes, leaving Farah in a state of surprise and realization. "Kakolookiyam" was her secret word that her mother uttered whenever Farah was scared to make her feel safe. At one point in the game, Farah explains the secret word and its significance to the Prince.

Farah's Help

Farah helps the Prince by fighting monsters with her bow. Despite her help she can also sometimes cause trouble by missing and hitting the Prince instead if he gets in her line of fire.

Due to her thin physique, Farah can also slide through cracks in walls and trigger switches the Prince cannot reach. The player is also required to protect Farah. If she is hurt a life bar will appear and if she dies you will lose the game.

Additional appearance

Though Farah is one of the main characters in ' and ', she only appears briefly in the alternate ending of ""

Farah in "The Two Thrones"

Although events chronicled in "The Sands of Time" never occurred, seven years have passed since we last knew Farah. As the years passed she became a little wiser and more independant.

She has been taken to Babylon against her will, imprisoned by the Vizier who ravaged India. Farah was not simply locked up in a dungeon, instead, she was placed inside a cage and carted around as one of his "pets", being forced to watch as her city was destroyed while she was rendered completely impotent in the face of such an act. This guilt eats away at her, and motivates her quest once she meets the Prince in Babylon.

Before all of this, she spent her days alternating between the pursuit of knowledge and honing her battle skills. She continued to favor the bow, considering long ranged combat far more effective. Graceful and quick, though lacking The Prince's acrobatic prowess, she's more than capable of handling herself. And when overwhelmed, she has often able to escape, thanks to her superior running skills. She also retains the ability to squeeze through even the smallest cracks. Having spent years amongst the nobles of the Indian court, she has learned how to stand up to the cruelest of them. She's fiercely independent and resents any pretense of chivalry, which she views as nothing more than thinly veiled chauvinism. She aimed to prove someday that women have just as much right to political power as men, although it isn't revealed if she feels the same way after the events of The Two Thrones are over.

Farah helps guide the Prince out of the dream world created by the Dark Prince. Telling him to, "turn away," and to "wake up". Farah waits on the Prince as he comes to, celebrating that it is all finally over.

The Old Man

The Old Man has been watching over The Prince since he was a child. He treated The Prince as his own son, also sometimes acting like his mentor.

He appears only in cut scenes, appears to be very wise, and knows a great deal about the Sands of Time and their creation place, the Island of Time.

In the Two Thrones, he rallies the freed citizens of Babylon to rebel against the Vizier's army.

Kaileena

Kaileena in "Warrior Within"

Kaileena and the Prince first meet when Shahdee tries to kill her. The Prince beats Shahdee, saving Kaileena. When she meets him later in the game, she frequently tells the Prince not to continue his journey, pressing on that his fate cannot be changed. Although she says this, she helps him throughout the game, giving him knowledge about the castle's towers which are used to open the door to the empress' room. The Prince continues his journey despite her advice against it. When the prince opens the door, it is revealed that Kaileena herself is the Empress of Time. She sent Shahdee to kill him. All this was an attempt to save herself from her own fate: that she would be killed by the Prince. They fight and she is killed, releasing the sands. The non-canonical ending involves Kaileena being killed yet again. However, the canon ending features the defeat of the Dahaka instead, and the salvation of Kaileena.

Kaileena in "The Two Thrones"

Following the canonical ending, The Prince and Kaileena sail back to Babylon, but because of the Prince's efforts on the Island of Time to prevent the Sands of Time from ever being created, the events of the original game never happened, and the Vizier was still alive. He has taken over the city and killed its defenders. The boat they sail on is attacked and destroyed, and the Prince and Kaileena drift to shore. Kaileena is taken to the Vizier in order to be killed to unleash the Sands of Time. However, the Prince gives chase, heading to save her. But as the Prince arrives, he is struck by Mahasti with the daggertail, a razor blade chain weapon, restricting him and stopping him from reaching Kaileena. The Vizier kills her, in turn releasing the Sands of Time, corrupting all around them, including the lieutenants, the Vizier's minions, and the Prince himself.

When the Prince defeats the Vizier at the end of the game, Kaileena appears once again, incarnated in the Sands. Kaileena thanks the Prince and removes his sand corruption and the daggertail, before leaving for an unknown world with the Sands of Time. Kaileena also narrates the events of The Two Thrones throughout the game.

Elika

Elika is a female character appearing in Ubisoft's "Prince of Persia". She is a descendant of the ancient Ahuras, who were tasked with guarding the ancient evil Ahriman imprisoned in the Tree of Life. Elika is the last of her kind and has had no access to the outside world in any way, until the Prince showed up. When she and the Prince ventured to the Tree of Life together, they witnessed the destruction of the tree, and, ultimately, the release of Ahriman and the awakening of Elika's new powers. Her task is to utilize her new powers to drive back the corruption set forth upon her world and stop Ahriman, with the help of the Prince.

Elika is a deadly ally, and a vital asset to the Prince as he fights off Corruption. She provides him with support in combat, platforming, and puzzle solving. She is very agile and can perform a variety of acrobatic tricks in tandem with the Prince. She is intended as a helpful asset in the quest, and is not supposed to ever be a burden to the Prince, in any way.

The Magus

The Magus is the Prince's ally in . He is a mage, who aids the Prince in freeing the land from Corruption. The word "magus" means "a magician, sorcerer, or astrologer," and Ubisoft has already stated that he utilizes magic, similar to Elika. He is dressed in red robes and Ubisoft says that he himself has been partially touched by Corruption.
