Asher Gould

Asher Gould (born 3 June 1971 in Birmingham, England), or "Ash" as he is known to listeners, is a producer (and unofficial co-presenter) for talkSPORT in the UK. He grew up in Handsworth, Birmingham and is a keen Aston Villa supporter.

Ash can be found on the 10pm - 1am night time show (Sunday - Thursday) alongside Ian Collins but is most famous for his work on the James Whale Radio Show. Ash was regularly 'berated' by Whale on air (mostly in fun) because of his laid back approach and his tendency to sneak off for a sly cigarette on the Talksport veranda during the show. Nonetheless, the pair had a long-standing working relationship which ended abruptly with Whale's sacking in May 2008.

Ash also worked with Tommy Boyd on "The Human Zoo" which was broadcast on a Sunday night until 2002. Ash's off-the-cuff one-liners made him very popular with listeners to the show. It would be fair to say, however, that despite his casual demeanour Ash is well-informed on many issues and often makes serious points during shows.

Other notable Ash attributes: a heavy but laid-back Brummie accent, sometimes long hair, observes every religious holiday possible of all denominations, and likes peas. Asher is the brother of media entrepreneur and broadcaster, Jonny Gould
