The Amargosa Pupfish Station is a protected wildlife refuge located in the
Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge , administered by theU.S. Fish and Wildlife Service , located 90 miles northwest ofLas Vegas, Nevada in Nye County. It is administered as a part ofAsh Meadows National Wildlife Refuge .The refuge is contained within the larger
Desert National Wildlife Refuge Complex , which also includes theAsh Meadows National Wildlife Refuge , theDesert National Wildlife Refuge ,Moapa Valley National Wildlife Refuge , and thePahranagat National Wildlife Refuge .The refuge was established to provide habitat for the
endangered Devil's Hole Pupfish that may have one of the most restricted habitats on the planet.Devil's Hole is administered by the National Park Service as part of Death Valley National Park.History
An additional pool of Pupfish has been established in the vicinity of
