Sonorism is an approach to
musical composition that focuses on the characteristics, quality, and texture ofsound . This emphasis on sound is inherently connected with a search for new types of sounds, and sonorism relies on experimenting with instruments to create novel playing techniques.As a movement, sonorism was initiated in the 1960s in the avant-garde of Polish music.
