Quinto Sol is a
publishing company with goals concerning bringingChicano literature to the forefront ofAmerican culture and uniting all Chicanos in theUnited States . It was founded in 1967 by Octavio I. Romano and, from 1970-1972, offered the Premio Quinto Sol literary prize--toTomás Rivera ,Rudolfo Anaya , andRolando Hinojosa --each of whom is now considered a major literary voice. [Cyrus R.K.
