History

Born in Tucson, Arizona, Quietstorm's family moved to San Paolo in Brazil at age 6 due to his father's work. At age 9 he returned to the United States to live in Peoria, Illinois. At 13 he moved to Tokyo for the first time and attended an international high school there. After finishing school Quietstorm went back to Illinois to pursue a degree in computer engineering at the University of Illinois. He returned to Tokyo for a while after graduating, living in the Naka-Meguro district. In the mid 80s Quietstorm began to DJ. After a brief return to Illinois, Quietstorm began to intensely play on the Tokyo club scene. In 1996 Quietstorm first encountered and joined the Living Legends crew from Oakland, California when they stayed at his house on a trip to Japan.

Together they recorded the album Escape Forever as well as several other songs. Around this time Quietstorm also created the Quiet on the Set V.1 mix tape and established the Naka-Meguro Drug Store crew.
