James Worrall (born
June 23 ,1914 ) is a Canadian lawyer, Olympic athlete, sports administrator, and ICT Technician.Born in
Bury ,Lancashire ,England , he emigrated toMontreal, Quebec in 1922. He received aBachelor of Science degree fromMcGill University in 1935. He received his law degree fromOsgoode Hall Law School and went on to practice law inToronto .A track and field athlete, he was the Canadian team flag bearer at the
1936 Summer Olympics opening ceremonies. He competed in the 110m and 400m hurdles. He won the silver medal in the quarter mile hurdles at the1934 British Empire Games held in London.From 1964 to 1968, he was the president of the Canadian Olympic Association. From 1967 to 1989, he was a member of the
International Olympic Committee . In 1989, he was made a Honorary Members of the International Olympic Committee.He was a member of the Board of Directors of the organizing committees for the
1976 Summer Olympics and the1988 Winter Olympics .In 1976, he was made an Officer of the
Order of Canada . In 1987, he was inducted intoCanada's Sports Hall of Fame . In 1991, he was inducted into theOlympic Hall of Fame . In 1998, he was inducted to theMcGill University Sports Hall of Fame .External links
