input ="Pac-Man World 3" is a video game that was released on
November 15 ,2005 inNorth America forPlayStation 2 , GameCube,Xbox ,PlayStation Portable ,Nintendo DS , and PC. It is the third game in the Pac-Man World series. It has also been made for the 25thanniversary of thePac-Man arcade game.toryline
In a search for power, a short but evil genius called Erwin has found a way to suck raw energy out of the world of the Ghosts (the Spectral Realm). He has created a
syphon that can penetrate into the Spectral Realm. However, this is also causing the Spectral Realm to collapse into the real world (Pac-Land), bringing about an environmental catastrophe. Pac-Man is celebrating his 25th birthday (to promote the 25th anniversary of the original arcade game) with his family when he is teleported into the Spectral Realm where Orson, a former nemesis of Pac-Man from the first Pac-Man World video game, communicates with him and tells him about the spectral realm. Pac-Man is also attacked by fiery spectral monsters of the orange, green, and purple varieties which have been driven mad by Erwin's hypnosis.Inky and Blinky have been kidnapped as part of Erwin's evil scheme, Pinky and Clyde are forced into a temporary alliance with Pac-Man, and the player has to use them to access spectral areas and use their ghost powers like Clyde's "Sonic Boo" or Pinky's ability to solidify platforms. Also, Pac-Man has learned to climb walls, punch enemies and swing around poles. Pac-Man can collect new items, such as 25th anniversary silver statues, in addition to classic fruit, Pac-dots, and galaxians (which teleport you to a classic level).
Synopsis of Levels
Level 1 - Bot Boneyard - An introduction to the features and controls of Pac-Man World 3
Level 2 - Banni Wastelands - An introduction to level-section puzzles and Armalope battles
Level 3 - The Spectral Cliffs - Pac-Man's first look at the Spectral Realm, has an extended number of spectral monsters
Level 4 - Gogekka Central - After using new forms of power pellets to defeat certain enemies, Pac-Man is introduced to the first giant syphon and Erwin's robotic army. Pac-Man must complete two "puzzles" to create a path for Pac-Man to follow to a maze that will be used to destroy the first syphon.
Level 5 - The Spectral Vale - This is another level through the Spectral Realm - Clyde is discovered and used to destroy a second syphon
Level 6 - Zephyr Heights - Pac-Man goes through a number of windmill puzzles, caves, and robots before reaching the boss battle against Erwin's Gigatron.
Level 7 - Ancient Catacombs - With the galaxian at the very beginning of the level, Pac-Man goes through a minor puzzle, two major ones (the latter involving Pinky solidifying platforms), a short steep-hill collect-all after defeating spectral monsters, and then finally defeating robots and destroying another syphon.
Level 8 - Gogekka Heights - Pac-Man defeats many robots here and most activate switches and doors to progress to the six-minute-timed bomb deactivation at the end.
Level 9 - Banni Canyon - A level with a mine shaft puzzle, a few keys, and some missing parts
Level 10 - Toc-Man Battle - Pac-Man controls Toc-Man, a robot used in the first Pac-Man World by Orson to terrorize Pac-Land, this time for good to save the Outpost from Erwin's Army.
Level 11 - Cragstone Bridge - This is a progressive level through the mountainside with mostly walkthrough, a couple of super-long puzzles, and high concentrations of robots in certain areas. This level has lots of fruit - which is often hidden. Pac-Man also makes a new friend that once escaped from Erwin's lands nearby.
Level 12 - Erwin's Fortress - Pac-Man is constantly bombarded with robotic enemies, laser-controlled areas, rev-roll activated doors, and the like with many areas where keeping health is very difficult.
Level 13 - Dungen Gunden - Pac-Man reaches the end of Erwin's Fortress, must go along the sides of buildings, and beat up even more robots and destroy more laser-controlling units to work his way to the final syphon.
Level 14 - The Spectral Zenith - Pac-Man must activate plenty of panels and complete a very long pac-dot puzzle before reaching a highly-elevated area, cracking open a gaping hole, and eventually dropping in.
Level 15 - Shadow Temple - Pac-Man destroys tons of robots as he works his way down. The collectibles show up very quickly. At the end of the level is the final boss battle against Erwin's Teradecahydratron followed by a difficult battle against Drubs, lord of glowing forks - which not only includes shooting robots, but lethal rockets as well. Once Erwin and Drubs are defeated, Pac-Man returns home, and the ending sequence (with credits) is played.Note: The battle against Drubs does not occur in the PC version.
Differences between Pac-Man World 2 and 3
There are several differences between the two games.
In Pac-Man World 2, a death drop results in the loss of an entire life, and losing all current health makes you return to a sometimes-distant checkpoint. In Pac-Man World 3, checkpoints, though not visible, are much more common, and a death drop results in losing only one health wedge. In return for this favor, extra lives are much less common in Pac-Man World 3, which also has few 1-up loops. You also start with three lives in Pac-Man World 3, compared to six in Pac-Man World 2 (which also let you stay alive with "x0 lives").
Pac-Man World 3 levels are much longer than in Pac-Man World 2. They also have one or two "save points" for all levels except Level 10, and these usually occur after completing sections, which are much more defined and separated in Pac-Man World 3, unlike Pac-Man World 2 levels, which are more like one colossal progressive maze.
The mazes to blow up syphons must be won, or all of the nearby monsters will return. However, mazes activated by eating a galaxian in Pac-Man World 3 merely boost your score and do not affect the outcome of the level as long as you get the galaxian, while as in "Pac-Man World 2", you must complete the galaxian maze to complete the level with 100% completion.
Scoring is much higher per level in Pac-Man World 3, largely due to the increased level length, the 12,500 additional points on each level (except for level 10) with the 25th anniversary Pac-Man statues, and the numerous enemies to be defeated that leave behind temporary up-for-grabs pac-dots.
In Pac-Man World 3, scoring is based on how far you can get through the entire game, and also with the levels. The top ten scores for the overall game, individual levels, and individual mazes played from the main menu can record initials. In Pac-Man World 2, an overall tally of a score is kept (which is continually added upon as the completion of levels improves), along with the total number of collected tokens.
If you lose all of your lives in Pac-Man World 3, you will return to the last time you saved the game, or to the main menu if you select that option. In Pac-Man World 2, you would have to return to the beginning of the level, and you would have to start the level again with five lives.
In Pac-Man World 3, fruit is more evenly distributed through the length of the level than in Pac-Man World 2, and the numbers of fruit are always equal to each other in Pac-Man World 3 levels.
