The
Kororoit Creek actually makes up the 700m western boarder of the suburb. This area once had large healthy populations of native reptiles, includingTiger snake ,Eastern Blue-tongued Lizard ,Common snakeneck turtle andEastern brown snake . Unfortunately due to development these species are now rarely seen in the area.Due to the recent development of the
Cairnlea andBurnside estates, on the southern and eastern borders of Albanvale, native species of frogs have taken advantage and have taken up residents in the new wetlands and lakes. TheCommon Eastern Froglet and even the now endangeredGrowling Grass Frog have been seen and heard in the new wetlands and aroundKororoit Creek .See also
