Frucor is an Australasian beverage company that was purchased by French company
Groupe Danone . The acquisition took place in 2002 for NZ$294m. The takeover offer was at NZ$2.35 per share. Frucor was previously owned byPacific Equity Partners ("PEP"), an Australian private equity firm. PEP acquired Frucor in 1998, listed the company on the New Zealand stock exchange in 2000, and sold it to Groupe Danone in 2002.In 1997 Frucor launched V the popular energy drink. In 1999 Frucor became the exclusive bottler for Pepsi products in New Zealand. In 2000 Frucor launched V in the UK and Ireland. In 2001 Frucor acquired the Australian fruit juice company Spring Valley.
In 2007, Frucor acquired Arano Juices.
PEP is believed to be successful in reacuiring Frucor from Groupe Danone for A$800m in 2008.
