Kelso is a suburb of Bathurst,
New South Wales ,Australia , in theBathurst Regional Council area. It is the original European settlement in the area. It is on the eastern banks of theMacquarie River and the first farmers moved to grants here in1816 .Kelso High School
The Secondary school in Kelso was opened in 1976 in demountable classrooms at Gormans Hill (Bathurst). The school moved to its present site in 1978 and remains open to this day despite a fire that totally destroyed the school in August 2005. The new buildings were finished by the end of 2007, three months ahead of schedule. Students started the 2008 school year in the new facilities.
