Tarnaka is a major residential suburb in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. It is a well planned suburb with good parks and drainage system. Tarnaka is relatively green and clean.

Tarnaka means "wired checkpost" actually in local language "tar" means wire and "naka" means check post. It used to have a grape garden in Nizams period. An area called kimtee colony exists which means costly colony only because it was the best grape gardens of the area.

Commercial area

The shopping area is quite good with big shopping malls and corner grocery stores alike.This place has shops which carters to all possible needs of people.

Aradhana 70mm is a small cinema theater, more so for cinema goers from of O.U. Campus. Life is more colorful in evenings and many small time vendors show up and people coming to shop here.
