Sitaphalmandi is one of the old suburbs Secunderabad, India. It is close to Secunderabad Railway Station. It is surrounded by Osmania University on the east (approx 2 km), Warasiguda on the south (1 km), Secunderabad on the west (approx 3 km), and Tarnaka on the north (approx 2 km).

Commercial area

The suburb's name comes from the fruit market present here, especially custard apples market. Usually farmers foremost arrive here on bullock carts with custard apples and other fruits and sell their produce. This routine continues even till today. They are found on Ramalayam street footpath where they usually put up tents for the whole season.

Some banks and ATMs operating in this area are, ICICI Bank, SBI, SBH, Andhra Bank, Central Bank. Movie theatres such as Suresh, Sridevi are present here. Alternatviely there are many other shops which cater to all needs of the locals. For other shopping options going downtown to Secunderabad or General bazaar is recommended. Sitaphalmandi has a lot of schools which cater to the students in and around the locality. Most of this schools have been here for more than 25 years.Govt. School, Pragathi High School, Veera Machineni Pagadiah High School, Vedic Vidyalayam High School, Amaravathi Grammar High School. The colleges here are Vivekananda Junior College, Vivekananda Degree College, Vivekananda PG College, Nehru High School - Namalagundu.

Culture

This place also has a lot of mosques and temples which are the main landmarks. There are 2 big mosques in this area, one is in the main sitafalmandi which is close to railway gate, and the other at Chilkalguda.The temples here are Rama Lingaeshwara swamy Alayam ( Ramalyam), Pochamma Temple, Saibaba Temple (Dathathreya temple), Gurudwara.

Transport

The place is well connected with Roadways and Railways. Secunderabad is only around 3 km from here. Sitaphalmandi connects to other parts of the city such as Falaknuma, Lingampally, Nampally and other adjoining districts via the MMTS (Local Train). A huge Flyover bridge over the busy railway tracks is being constructed to connect the areas of Chilkalguda and Sitaphalmandi to Tarnaka and Osmania University Campus.
