The First Martin Ministry was the 42nd ministry to come from the
Northern Territory Legislative Assembly . It was the first everAustralian Labor Party ministry in the history of theNorthern Territory , and was sworn in onAugust 27 ,2001 afterClare Martin 's victory in the 2001 election. It included the first ever female Chief Minister in Martin, as well as the first ever indigenous minister inJohn Ah Kit .
