First Martin Ministry

The First Martin Ministry was the 42nd ministry to come from the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly. It was the first ever Australian Labor Party ministry in the history of the Northern Territory, and was sworn in on August 27, 2001 after Clare Martin's victory in the 2001 election. It included the first ever female Chief Minister in Martin, as well as the first ever indigenous minister in John Ah Kit. It lasted until November 12, 2001, when Martin made some portfolio changes and installed a more permanent ministry.

* Hon Dr Peter Toyne, MLA: Attorney-General, Minister for Central Australia, Minister for Primary Industry and Fisheries, Minister for Sport and Recreation, Minister for Corporate and Information Services and Minister for Regional Development
* Hon Paul Henderson: Minister for Industries and Business, Minister for Resource Development, Minister for Asian Relations and Trade, Minister for Territory Insurance, Minister for the AustralAsia Railway and Minister for Racing, Gaming and Licensing.
