- Fifth Martin Ministry
The Fifth Martin Ministry was the 46th ministry to come from the
Northern Territory Legislative Assembly . It served as an interim ministry after theAustralian Labor Party 's victory in the 2005 election. It was made necessary as the experiencedJohn Ah Kit had retired at the election, and Chief MinisterClare Martin was reluctant to force new and inexperienced ministers to have to carry the budget through estimates committees in their first weeks on the job. As a result, Ah Kit's entire workload passed to the already heavily loaded Paul Henderson for a little over two weeks fromJune 24 ,2005 toJuly 11 , when the full ministry was sworn in.* Hon
