Horsenden Hill (grid ref: oscoor|TQ165845|TQ165845) is a hill and open space in
Perivale ,Middlesex ,England . It is located in theLondon Borough of Ealing , close to boundary with theLondon Borough of Brent .Horsenden Hill is the highest point in the local area, rising to 84m / 276 ft above sea level, and is near the site of an ancient
hillfort . It is the site of atrig point TP4024.In the
Second World War it was the site of ananti-aircraft battery, which was used to protect the local factories from air attack. There are currently two reservoirs built into the hill on the south side. To the south and east the hill is bound by theGrand Union Canal (Paddington branch), which runs roughly along the 100 ft contour line. To the south west lies Perivale Wood Bird Reserve, run and maintained by the Selbourne Society.A scenic spot on the
Capital Ring in the summer months, Horsenden Hill offers great views across westLondon . There are also views to nearbyHarrow on the Hill and the newWembley Stadium . On a clear day there are views of theHome Counties ofSurrey ,Berkshire ,Buckinghamshire ,Hertfordshire andEssex .Two
golf course s cover parts of the hill on the south and east sides. Nearby stations arePerivale tube station ,Sudbury Town tube station andGreenford station . There is also a visitors centre located at Perivale Farm on the east side of the hill and a public car park on the north side. The car park and visitors centre close at dusk. Access to both is via Horsenden Lane North, NorthGreenford .In the summer of 2006, as part of the Horsenden Grazing Project,
Highlander cows have been introduced to graze in a fenced-off area. Its most frequent walker is know to be Martina Oxley who has been seen to walk it at least twice a month and has a wide knowledge of the areaExternal links
