Educated at the
Anglo-Chinese School for most of his primary and secondary school years, Hossan was active in many stage productions even before he left the school system and embarked on a 2 year diploma course in electronics at the Singapore-French Institute, now part ofNanyang Polytechnic .He is fluent in English and French and is able to handle Mandarin and Cantonese dialects.
Career Beginning
Hossan started his career on the stage with one of Singapore’s leading theatre companies, The Necessary Stage in 1993. His first play, Off Centre, led him to more plays with the company, such as Waiting, WWW, 1+1=3, Asian Boys Vol.1, Mardi Gras and Top or Bottom. He was also in ACTION Theatre’s Prelude To A Kiss and the 2004 Christmas hit, The House of Flying Chestnuts. He was in

Hossan Leong is one of Singapore’s most popular and successful television and theatre actors, working constantly and earning an impressive array of awards and reviews, including Best Ensemble Acting in the 2000 Life! DBS Theatre Awards and a nomination for Best Actor in 2005 and Best Supporting Actor for the 2006 and 2003 Life! Theatre Awards respectively. To date, he has performed in more than 50 plays and numerous television programmes.
Hossan is well known in Singapore for his stand-up comedy routines, Hossan, LIVE! was a huge success. He performed with Selena Tan in It Takes Two. He is affectionately called The Singapore Boy. He performs regularly with the Dim Sum Dollies and was also part of Chestnuts.
He has worked with the best in Musical Theatre from the States, London, Australia and Singapore. Musical theatre credits include: Little Shop of Horrors, Cinderellah, Honk!, The Forbidden City, Chang and Eng, Fiddler On The Roof, Twist Of Fate, Beauty World, Corporate Animals and Sing To The Dawn.
Hossan staged his brand new Stand-up act, Multiple Personalities Disorder in February 2007 at the Drama Centre. He also performed a one-hour stand-up routine in Chicago for Citylights Chicago in February.
March 2007, Hossan narrated the life of
Edith Piaf in No Regrets - A Tribute to Edith Piaf.April, Hossan hosted and performed in Central Park, New York City for Singapore Day.

Directorial
Hossan made his directorial debut in Sydney in 2003. He directed Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Flower Drum Song for AHA! Productions in their inaugural production. He produced, directed and starred in Best Served Cold, a murder-mystery dinner theatre piece for the 2004 World Gourmet Summit. He conceived, produced and directed On This Island, a musical revue, for the APAO Congress 2006. Together with [http://www.paulcarrconsultancy.com Paul Carr] , Hossan wrote, directed and acted in a play for the launch of the 2006 [http://www.goodenglish.org.sg Speak Good English Movement] in Singapore.
Ambassador
His fluency in the French language has led him to work with the Alliance Française on a Tribute to Edith Piaf. He represented the Singapore Actors in Paris at the Asian Film Festival. This year he has been named Ambassador for Paris 2012 and was awarded the Prix des Ambassadeurs francophones (Francophone Ambassador Award). Hossan is also the Speak Mandarin Campaign Ambassador for 2005/2006.
He is an honoree winner in The Top Outstanding Young Persons Award 2007 for his contributions to the Arts and Entertainment scene in Singapore, inspiring the youth of Singapore to strive towards excellence in whatever they undertake.
Appearances on the Screens
On television, Hossan has starred in many programmes. Hossan was also on Hallmark Entertainment’s The Monkey King. He most recently guest-starred in Chase and was on Channel 8’s award-winning drama seriesYou Fu. His other television roles were Under One Roof, Can I Help You? The Donny Lee Show, Shiver amongst others.
On the silver screen, Hossan worked on a Hong Kong-Singapore co-production, One Last Dance (Cannes 2006). Other film credits include One Leg Kicking and I Not Stupid.
He is also a well known host and emcee, having hosted dinners and corporate events in Singapore, Bangkok and Brunei, for Starhub, UBS, Vickers Ballas, TNT, IDA, government ministries, SIA amongst many others.

Other work include being a producer/presenter for radio and a voice-over artist for radio and television commercials as well as for television programs like Extreme Gourmet, Extreme Japan,
