Ocean View Elementary School (Albany, California)

Ocean View Elementary School is a grade K-5 elementary school in Albany, Alameda County, California. Opened in 1999, it is operated by the Albany Unified School District [http://www.albanyca.org/home/about_albany.html] .

The school has several specialists including a speech pathologist, a psychologist, an occupational therapist, an adaptive physical education teacher, and an English as an additional language teacher. The special education students are integrated into regular classes with other students to the greatest extent possible, with extra assistance provided by about six special education support staff.

Most students at Ocean View have parents who attend or work for the University of California, Berkeley. These students live at The Village.

In 1999, Albany Middle School was moved from its location at 1000 Jackson St, where Ocean View Elementary School is currently located, to its present location at 1259 Brighton Ave.

During the 2005-2006 school year, MacGregor High School temporarily used the same building, while awaiting a more permanent location starting in the 2006-2007 school year.
