May 4 ,1886 -September 6 ,1975 ) was apopular music composer who wrote some of the biggest hits of the first third of the 20th century.Brooks was born in
Amherstburg, Ontario ,Canada . His family moved toDetroit, Michigan in 1901.Shelton Brooks sang, played
piano , and performed onVaudeville and inmusical comedy as well as having his songwriting career. He also had aradio show on theCBS network in the 1930s.His hits included "All Night Long", "At the Darktown Strutters' Ball", "Every Day", "
