Starry Wisdom Cult

The Starry Wisdom Cult are a four-piece, guitar-based rock/metal band with stoner rock influences. The band are based around Edinburgh, Perth and Fife, Scotland.

History and inspiriation

The band's name is derived from one of the Cthulhu Mythos cults. Unlike many bands who have drawn names from this source, their music is aimed at a wide-ranging audience and their lyrics do not incorporate themes from the Cthulhu mythos.

The band was initially formed in the late 1990s, taking inspiration from bands such as Black Sabbath, Soundgarden, Hawkwind and Metallica.

The Starry Wisdom Cult have played many many gigs around central Scotland. They have also played at the Edinburgh Meadows Festival twice, in 2002 and 2004
