British American Football League

The League has 3 divisions: Premier, 1 and 2 [ [http://www.bafl.org.uk Official Website of the British American Football League ] ] , each with a playoff series and championship game to determine a winner [ [http://www.bafl.org.uk/artman2/publish/BritBowl_46/index.asp Official Website of the British American Football League ] ] . The Championship participants are promoted to the divisions above and the lowest ranking teams in each division are relegated.

Teams compete annually to reach the championship game (BritBowl) and win the Boston Trophy. The game is traditionally hosted at Sheffield's Don Valley Stadium, although the venue for the 2008 finals was switched due to a schedule conflict with Rotherham United FC, the stadium's temporary tenants, [cite web|url=http://www.bafl.org.uk/artman2/publish/BritBowl_46/BBXXII_in_doubt_at_DVS.asp|title=BBXXII in doubt at DVS|date=2008-06-16|publisher=BAFL|accessdate=2008-06-19] with the match instead being played at the Keepmoat Stadium in Doncaster. BAFL Premier

The BAFL's Premier Division for the 2008 season is comprised of seven teams following the late withdrawal of the London Olympians shortly before the start of the season.
