Big Kenny (born William Kenneth Alphin in Culpeper, Virginia on November 1, 1963) is an American country music singer, and a member of the American country music duo Big & Rich, which also comprises John Rich. Together, Big & Rich have recorded three studio albums for Warner Bros. Records, and have charted several singles on the Hot Country Songs charts. Before forming Big & Rich, Alphin was the lead singer of a group luvjOi, which recorded two studio albums (Rich cowrote a few songs for these albums and sometimes joined the band as an unannounced "special guest" onstage). Alphin also recorded a solo album in 1999 titled "Live a Little", although it was not released until 2005.

Personal life

On January 23, 2005 he married Christiev Carothers. She has two sons from a previous marriage: Christopher Carothers, Cameron Carothers, and together they have one son, Lincoln William Holiday Alphin, born on November 2, 2005.

In addition to several of Big & Rich's doubles, he has co-written "Here for the Party" by Gretchen Wilson, "Hicktown" and "Amarillo Sky" for Jason Aldean (the latter of which was previously recorded by McBride & the Ride), and "Last Dollar (Fly Away)" for Tim McGraw. All but "Last Dollar" were co-written with John Rich.

In October 2007, Big Kenny traveled to Darfur, Sudan to deliver medical and educational supplies [http://www.cmt.com/news/articles/1572388/20071019/big_rich.jhtml] .
