HILCO Electric Cooperative

HILCO Electric Cooperative is a non-profit rural electric utility cooperative headquartered in Itasca, Texas, United States, with a district office in Whitney, Texas.

The Cooperative was organized in 1936 as Hill County Electric Cooperative.

The Cooperative serves portions of Dallas, Ellis, Hill, Johnson, and McLennan, Texas, in a territory ranging generally from south of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex to north of Waco, Texas.

Currently (as of 2006 year-end) the Cooperative has 2,800 miles of distribution lines and 21,644 meters.

The Cooperative also provides water services and propane sales in portions of the same territory as its electric service.
