star in theconstellation Virgo. It also has the traditional name Heze, which is not often used and of unclear origin.The star is known as "
Jiao Xiu 2" (角宿二) inChinese constellation .ζ Virginis is a white main sequence dwarf star of
apparent magnitude 3.37 and spectral class A3V about 74light year s from Earth. It has a luminosity 18 times that of thesun with a surfacetemperature of 8400kelvin s. Itsmass is just under 2 solar masses.The star has an unusually fast rotation period of less than 0.5 days.
