Responsible Information Management is a concept, founded on an intersection between, on the one hand, values, ethics and legislation, and on the other, governance, technology & strategic visioning. It is based on an extension of the meaning of privacy and in particular informational self-determination.
From this amalgam, Responsible Information Management orchestrates conceptual information governance and value frameworks which formalize knowledge, so to meaningfully address issues of societal and economic significance.
Responsible Information Management has different meanings and implications dependent upon society, culture, business model and technology pertinent to a particular application.
