Characters

Hillary Callahan has strawberry-blonde hair and is the most athletic of all the cousins. She is described as having skateboarding and snowboarding magazines. As of the first book "The Callahan Cousins: Summer Begins", Hillary's parents are getting divorced. She is shy around meeting new people, and comes from Colorado.

Neeve Callahan has black cowlicked hair and has moved to lots of different countries, from Kenya to Singapore. With each country she visist, Neeve gets many clothes and makeup. As a result, she is described as the most sophisticated of the cousins. Neeve is also the most outgoing cousin, and appears to flirt with every boy she meets. In the second book, "The Callahan Cousins: Home Sweet Home", she discovers a family secret.

Kate Callahan has short brown hair, and is described as the most sensitive cousin. She is very sweet and caring, and dislikes fighting and yelling. Kate has earned herself the nickname "Martha Stewart," as she likes to bake and do crafts such as needlepoint. She lives in the suburbs.

Phoebe Callahan has long, bright blonde hair, and lives in Florida. She is the smartest cousin with a large vocabulary that she often uses. Phoebe likes things neat, and reads every night. Although she usually doesn't agree to go adventures right away, she admits to being secretly excited.

The Sound

The Sound is Gee's 12-acre property. There are 14 bedrooms and an unknown amount of bathrooms, but the house is kept neat by Sheila Bicket, the housemaid, and the whole house is full of family photos. There is also a fingernail of a beach, a pet cemetery, a cove called "The Promised Land", the Fallen Down Trees, and a small Dorm that the girls start fixing up to live in for part of the summer.
