Peter Paphides (born Panayiotis Paphides) is a British

Paphides was born in
Birminghamto a Greek Cypriot father, Chris, and a Greek mother, Victoria. He has an elder brother, Aki. His father ran the 'Great Western' fish bar in Acocks Green, and the family lived upstairs. In 1979, the family moved to the suburb of Olton, where his father ran the 'King Fisher' (now 'George's Fish Bar').
He went on to read
philosophyat the University of Wales, Lampeter.
Paphides later wrote for
Melody Makerand Time Out. Today, he is based in London. He married fellow Times columnist Caitlin Moranin December 1999. They two daughters, Dora, (born 2001) and Eavie (born 2003).
