Ron English painted the cover art for the album, which it would seem was inspired byAndy Warhol 's covers for the album "The Velvet Underground and Nico " as well as forThe Rolling Stones 'album "Sticky Fingers ".
*"We Used to Be Friends" was featured in the Pilot episode of the glitzy drama, "Las Vegas". It was also used as thetheme song for "Veronica Mars " and is featured on "" as well as the short-lived Fox series "Wonderfalls ". It was also used as the theme song for the Australianreality TV show, "My Restaurant Rules ", and is one of the tracks on FIFA 2004. It was also mashed-up with Beastie Boys' "Intergalactic" under the title "Intergalactic Friends". The track is also heavily influenced by Feeder's 1999 top 40 hit single "Day in Day Out ", as the bassline is heavily duplicated and was once mentioned by the band that they heard the track being played by Feeder at theGlastonbury festival .
*The film "9 Songs " includes a live performance of "(You Were) The Last High" as one of its episodes.
*The song "I Am a Scientist" is used as the opening theme to the radio show "This Week in Science ", and was used on Sky's "".
*The album name is inspired by the Kurt Vonnegut novel of the same name.
