The Badachu (
Simplified Chinese : 八大处;Traditional Chinese : 八大處;pinyin : Bā Dàchǔ; also called Badachu Park; 八大处公园), meaning "Eight Great Sites," refers to the eightBuddhist temples andmonasteries scattered across the Cuiwei, Pingpo, and Lushi hills in theShijingshan District , at the foot of Beijing'sWestern Hills Scenic Area. Located along the outskirts ofBeijing , it was restored during the1980 s and has since become a famous tourist destination. There are a total of eight former Buddhist temples and monasteries in Badachu Park. These are theTemple of Eternal Peace (Chang'ansi), theTemple of Divine Light (Lingguangsi),Three-hill Nunnery (Sanshan'an), theTemple of Great Mercy (Dabeisi), theTemple of Dragon Spring Nunnery (Longquan'an), theTemple of Fragrant World (Xiangjiesi), TheCave of Precious Pearl (Baozhudong), andZhengguo Temple .Badachu Park is an attractive place to visit all year round. It has a pleasant temperate climate, remaining cool in
summer and warm inwinter . Visitors can stroll from one temple to another, enjoying the beautiful scenery and admiring thearbor and rare ancienttrees . Some of these trees have been standing for over 6 centuries, but theirroots and branches are still strong and in good shape. In September and October, when the leaves are turning red, crowds of tourists come to climb the mountains. There is a cable-car to the top of the hill.External links
