WV 259 runs North from the Virginia/West Virginia state line in southern Hardy County through the communities of Mathias, Lost City, Lost River, and on to Baker. At Baker, WV 259 runs concurrent withWest Virginia Route 55 North to Wardensville. From Wardensville, WV 259 continues alone North through the communities of Yellow Spring, Lehew, and High View. At High View is the Virginia/West Virginia state line in eastern Hampshire County. Here it becomesVirginia State Route 259 and is also known as Carper's Pike. It continues inVirginia and terminates at U.S. Route 50 near Gore, VA in Frederick County.A popular shortcut is using WV 259 south from
