Van Keurens, New York is a village created by Matheus Van Keuren in the 18th century. The community is located in
Dutchess County, New York ,USA .Van Keurens is in the Town of Poughkeepsie.
The Van Keurens lived in
Kingston, New York but Matheus owned a foundry on a parcel of land on theHudson River , close to what is nowIBM , in the community ofSpackenkill . Matheus forged many of the links of the chain used in theHudson River Chain at his foundry at Spackenkill. The village is partly a wooded, unpopulated area betweenIBM and the Clinton PointQuarry owned by Tilcon, Inc., but part of the land rests on a Spackenkill residential community known informally as Crown Heights.External links
