Kevin William Pilkington (born 8 March 1974 in Hitchin) is an English footballer. He currently plays for Notts County. He is convert|6|ft|2|in|m|2|abbr=on tall and weighs convert|13|st|kg|abbr=on. Pilkington plays as a goalkeeper for the Magpies, and is noted for his shot stopping abilities. He is very consistent in the lower leagues.

He started his footballing career at Manchester United, signing as an apprentice on leaving school in 1990 and featuring in their FA Youth Cup triumph in 1992, after which he signed a professional contract, but was only third choice to Peter Schmeichel and one of Gary Walsh, Tony Coton or Raimond van der Gouw.

Pilkington's senior debut for Manchester United came at the age of 20, when, on 19 November 1994, he came on as a substitute for the injured Peter Schmeichel in a 3-0 home win over Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

He had loan spells at Rochdale, Rotherham and Celtic before signing for Port Vale in May 1998.

When Pilkington was released from Vale, had briefs spells at Aberystwyth Town and Wigan Athletic before joining Mansfield Town where he went on to make over 100 appearances for the Stags.

He then joined Notts County in the summer of 2005.

Before his move to Meadow Lane, Pilkington was best remembered by Notts County supporters for conceding a goal from opposite goalkeeper Steve Mildenhall during a bizarre League Cup match between the Stags and Magpies in which a hat-trick from Notts striker Danny Allsopp and a brace from Stags striker Chris Greenacre were both overshadowed by Mildenhall's first half free kick from inside of his own half of the field.
