Justicialist Party deputy and vice governor for the province of Santa Cruz. When governorNéstor Kirchner resigned in May 2003 to becomePresident of Argentina , Icazuriaga became governor of the province. Icazuriaga served as governor until December 2003, when he joined the government.His nicknames are "El vasco" (because of his Basque descent), "Pancho" and "El Chango".
