Abertysswg ( _cy. Abertyswg) is a village in the county borough of Caerphilly, Wales, United Kingdom, within the historic boundaries of Monmouthshire.

etting

Situated among the South Wales Valleys, Abertysswg is a small village in very close proximity to Rhymney and Pontlottyn, which are both literally down the road. The nearest major town is Merthyr Tydfil

Village Commerce & Industry

The village was at one point home to the coal mining industry of the South Wales Coalfield with a pit at the end of Westville road. This has long been gone for years since the coal industry in England and Wales has folded. Most of the villages industry is now small scale retail. Abertysswg has a village shop, Post Office, takeaway and several pubs & clubs.

Year 2000 Renovation

The village has had some renovation work completed on it in the new millennium, to make it a closer and more friendlier community again. A new park/recreation area has been built, and a brand new community centre stands proud at the top of the village.
