coeducation al,nonsectarian privateday school located in Tinton Falls, in Monmouth County,New Jersey , serving students in beginners through twelfth grade. It was founded in 1960 by educator Russel G. Ranney to help improve students' college board grades. The 61 acres are home to an observatory, a greenhouse, a modern Middle and Upper school building, two computer labs, a large dining hall, tennis courts, tracks, two gymnasiums, an indoor 25-meter swimming pool, and fields for soccer, lacrosse, baseball, and softball.
The new, state of the art Lower School complex has been completed. The redevelopment of the Athletic Complex has also taken place.

Ranney keeps course enrollment as small as possible to maintain an intimate learning experience. Classes always have between four and twenty students.

The school also competes against other New Jersey and New York City area private schools.In the summer/fall of 2006, a new rubberized running track (Guidone Track ¼ mi) and turf field (Karagianakis Field) were installed.
In the fall of 2007, new tennis courts (Kelly Tennis Courts) were installed during an outdoor ceremony.
Dress Code and Uniforms
In the Upper School and Middle School, male students are required to wear either khaki or navy blue
pants . Oxford shirts, in either blue or in white, must be worn with atie . Dress shoes and a matching brown or black leather belt must also be worn. Socks need not be of the dress variety, however, it is required the two socks match. Long hair,piercings , and extreme styles are strictly prohibited.Female students may also wear blue or white dress shirts and khaki or navy blue pants, They are also given the option of wearing navy blue or khaki skirts, however, these skirts may be no more than three inches above the knee. Dress shoes and matching socks are also required for girls. In contrast to the strict length and style regulations that are imposed on the hair of the males, girls can have hair of any length and are allowed to dye their hair a single natural hair color. For example brown and blonde are acceptable; Green, pink and red are strictly prohibited.
The girls in the Middle School Level have different clothing options and acceptable clothing options than the girls in the Lower School Division. In the lower school divisions, the girls wear a peter pan blouse and a jumper. All of the clothing is preferably from Lands End. Girls may also wear polos either white or navy.
Boys in the lower school division have the option of wearing navy or khaki shorts or pants. They may also wear peter pan collared oxfords and/or polos that are either navy or white.
