Ape is a fictional mutant character in the Marvel Universe.

Publication history

Ape's first appearance was in "Power Pack" vol. 1 #12 (July 1985), and he was created by Louise Simonson and June Brigman.

The character subsequently appears in "The Uncanny X-Men" #195 (July 1985), "Power Pack" #27 (December 1986), "X-Factor" #11-13 (December 1986-February 1987), and "Weapon X" vol. 2 #5 (March 2003) and #10 (August 2003).

Ape appeared as part of the "Morlocks" entry in the "Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe Deluxe Edition" #9.

Fictional character biography

Ape was a member of the Morlocks who was amongst those that escaped the Marauders' slaughter during the "Mutant Massacre". Ape was later captured by the subversive Weapon X program and incarcerated in the "Neverland" concentration camp, where he was amongst the first mutants to be executed [Weapon X vol. 2 #5] .

Other media

Ape appears in the "X-Men" TV series along with his fellow Morlocks.
