"The Way That I Am" is a 1993 album by country music singer Martina McBride. It has been certified platinum by the RIAA. This was her breakthrough album, producing her first Top 5 hit in "My Baby Loves Me", which was previously recorded by Canadian singer Patricia Conroy (whose version was a top 10 hit in Canada) on her 1992 album "Bad Day for Trains". McBride's version was a #2 on the Hot Country Songs charts. Also released were "Life #9" at #6, "Independence Day" at #12, "Heart Trouble" at #21, and finally, "Where I Used to Have a Heart" at #49.
