Frenchburg, West Virginia

Frenchburg is an unincorporated community in Hampshire County, West Virginia, USA. Frenchburg is located along the Northwestern Turnpike (U.S. Route 50) where the Little Cacapon River is formed by the confluence of the North and South forks of the Little Cacapon east of Shanks. Frenchburg is also the location of the southern terminus of Little Cacapon River Road (West Virginia Secondary Route 50/9) on U.S. Route 50.

During the American Civil War, Frenchburg was burned in 1861 by Union troops who believed the town's residents were aiding Confederate bushwhackers.
