Paul Edward Draper (born
26 September 1970 ,Wavertree ,Liverpool ) is an Englishsinger-songwriter and was the leadsinger for the indie/brit pop bandMansun .Prior to Mansun, Draper had been in a band called Grind, and released a 12" single entitled "The Dying Man". Along with
bassist Stove King , andguitarist Dominic Chad , Draper was a founding member of Mansun.In an uncredited role, he worked with
Paul Oakenfold on thealbum "Bunkka ". They recorded aninstrumental trancesong called "Descent" in 2000 which appeared on Oakenfold's record "Perfecto Presents Travelling".Fact|date=February 2007During 2004 Paul compiled and mixed Mansun's aborted 4th album sessions for their release in the "Kleptomania" box set. In October 2005, "Alone in My Room" a single by Skin (ex-
Skunk Anansie ) , co-written and co-produced by Draper, was released; his first involvement in any musical project since "Kleptomania". He also worked on several other tracks on her second album, including the single .He has also produced for the Derby band Komakino, the fruits of which should be heard in 2007, and worked on the 2006 Ibiza anthem "Exceeder" with Dutch DJ Mason.
On
16 May 2006 , Paul revealed on his website that during the recording of Kleptomania that he had been diagnosed with a malignant form of cancer on his middle finger, for which he underwent chemotherapy.
