Carol Lynn Maillard was one of the founding members of the
African American a cappella ensembleSweet Honey in the Rock . She is an accomplished actress, singer and composer. Her acting credits include roles on Broadway (Eubie ,Comin' Uptown , Beehive);off-Broadway (in severalNegro Ensemble Company productions and in theNew York Shakespeare Festival ); television ("For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf ", "Hallelujah! "); and film ("Beloved", "Thirty to Life "). Maillard has also been a guest vocalist for artistsHorace Silver andBetty Buckley .
