John Palfrey (born
1972 ) is Executive Director of theBerkman Center for Internet & Society , vice dean for library and information resources, and a tenured professor atHarvard Law School . [ [http://www.law.harvard.edu/news/2008/04/30_palfrey.php Palfrey appointed as new head of Harvard Law School Library] ] He is a principal investigator on theOpen Net Initiative , a collaboration between Harvard and theUniversity of Toronto and theUniversity of Cambridge that studies the Internet filtering of countries such asChina ,Iran , andSingapore , among many others. He is co-author of two books, "Access Denied" (MIT Press, 2008) and "Born Digital" (Basic Books, forthcoming, 2008).Palfrey served as a Visiting Professor of Law and Information at the
University of St. Gallen , Switzerland, in 2007 - 2008.He is a graduate of
Harvard College , theUniversity of Cambridge , andHarvard Law School . His parents, also professors, are the co-masters of Adams House atHarvard College .In February, 2008, he started the DRAFT LESSIG movement to encourage law professor
