Sonsón

Sonsón is a municipality in the Colombian department of Antioquia. Sonsón is located in Eastern Antioquia. It is one of the seats of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sonsón–Rionegro.

History

In the early 1900s, Sonsón was the second city in Antioquia after Medellín, the capital, it had many factories, and most of the rich people in Antioquia had business there. But around 1930, people start migrating to other municipalities which were nearest to Medellín.

Roads

Sonsón communicates with Medellín, by an excellent road. Also communicates with the municipalities of Abejorral, La Unión and Aguadas ( Departament of Caldas)
