Southern Bank was a Malaysian
bank and the ninth-largest lender while being one of the tenanchor banks in Malaysia.In 2006 it was bought over by
Bumiputra-Commerce Holdings (BCHB). BCHB plans to delist the bank from public listing as well as Bumiputra-Commerce andCIMB (Investment bank division). Therefore these three banks will convert into 1 universal bank and will rename CIMB Bank.Previously, it was 3.3% owned by Singapore's
OCBC Bank.Temasek Holdings holds a direct 4.36 % stake of the Malaysian bank, while other units within the Temasek stable have a combined 3.22 %.External links
