Shatrujit Singh, Prince of Kapurthala (born 27 December 1961) is the elder son of HH Brig Sukhjit Singh, MVC,[1] Maharaja of Kapurthala and HH Maharani Gita Devi of Kapurthala, daughter of Darbar Shri Ala Vajsur Khachar II Sahib of Jasdan, CIE by his second wife, Rani Madvi Devi Sahib, daughter of Rajkumar Gambhir Chand of Jubbal. He has one brother and two sisters:

  • HH Maharajkumar Amanjit Singh of Kapurthala. He died unmarried 10 November 1991 at Chail, Himachal Pradesh in a hunting accident.
  • HH Maharajkumari Bibiji Gayatri Devi of Kapurthala educated at Welham Girls School Dehra Dun.
  • HH Maharajkumari Preeti Devi of Kapurthala, Global advisor for environment and sustainable development, Royal Dutch Shell Company.[2] She has issue, one daughter:
  • Princess Shaira Devi, born 1992.

Biography

He is an alumnus[3] of the elite Doon School Dehra Dun, Uttarakhand. He also graduated from Hindu College, Delhi University. He is Chief Representative in Asia for Moet-Hennessy and Group Advisor to the French firm, Louis Vuitton,[4] he has pioneered the entry of Moet Hennessy, LVMH perfumes and cosmetics and the LVMH fashion group into India, he is also actively involved in various restoration projects in Punjab and has had other initiatives undertaken for the protection of India's Heritage monuments,[5][6] he was awarded the Order of the Mohammediya by King Hassan II of Morocco for developing outstanding relationships, both cultural and economic, with the Kingdom of Morocco. President Guru Ka Lal Sultan Ul Quam Nawab Jassa Singh Ahluwalia Memorial Trust (Regd).[7][8]

Marriage and children

He was married to HH Rajkumari Chandralekha Kumari Sahiba styled Tikka Rani Sahib during her marriage, daughter of Raja Rudra Partab Singh Bahadur of Bansi, a talukdari of UP. He has issue, an only son:

  • HH MK Suryajit Singh (born 28 May 1990)
