EARLY YEARS
Sarah was born in Long Branch, N.J., and her early years were spent in Belmar, N.J. Unlike your average grammar school student, Sarah acquired a love for the "Big Band" sound very early in life and decided that it would be her calling. Moving to Jupiter, Florida after graduating from Belmar Elementary School, she continued her education focused on both music and acting. Sarah was in the first graduating class of the Palm Beach County School of the Arts at the Kravis Center, and Burt Reynolds was the keynote speaker to mark the prestigious occasion. She subsequently graduated from The New World School of the Arts in Miami, and has also received a “Bachelor of Fine Arts” diploma from the University of Florida.
Borrowing the idea of catchy names given to other female vocalists such as “The Liltin” Miss Martha Tilton, and “The Singing Rage” Miss Patti Page, Sarah earned a reputation as "The Regal Miss Sarah Spiegel", or simply "The Regal Miz". Her 1930s and '40s songs can be heard daily on the popular radio station, WJTW 100.3 FM in Palm Beach County, right alongside Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and Barbra Streisand.
Sarah's arrival in Los Angeles from South Florida has been met with nonstop work. Her credentials include guest star roles on national television shows such as Samantha Who?, King of Queens, Boston Public, Navy NCIS, Living With Fran, and Providence.
Sarah has an equally impressive stage and theatrical resume. With her melodic voice and acting abilities, Sarah has starred in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Dancing at Lughnasa, The Caucasian Chalk Circle and The Threepenny Opera.
General Motors recruited Sarah to be one of the national spokespersons for their 100th anniversary celebration. She interviewed and shared the stage with many luminaries from the business and entertainment field throughout 2008.
Hollywood Walk of Fame
On July 25, 2010 Louis Prima Jr and the Witnesses featuring Sarah Spiegel were in Hollywood for an historic occasion: Louis Prima's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on 1617 Vine Street. Louis Jr. and his sister Lena were on hand to accept the star on their father's behalf, followed by a tribute show to their father. In the year Louis Sr. would have become a centenarian, his son Louis Jr. showed the world that the time is indeed right for a resurgence in big band and swing...and Louis Jr. the one to make the world stand ready to "Jump, Jive an' Wail."
