Sarah Ellis (born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada) is a Canadian children's author and librarian. She attended the University of British Columbia where she received her Bachelors of Arts honours in 1973 and a Masters in Library Science in 1975. She also attended the Centre for the Study of Children's Literature, Simmons College in Boston in 1980.[1] She has been a librarian in Toronto and Vancouver. She also used to write reviews for the Quill and Quire,[2]

Awards
Odd Man Out- Sarah Ellis collected many awards for Odd Man Out; including the $20,000 TD Canadian Children's Literature Award, and the Sheila A. Egoff Children's Literature Prize in 2007.
Back Of Beyond- Sarah Ellis won the Sheila A. Egoff Children's Literature Prize in 1997.
The Baby Project- Sarah Ellis won the Sheila A. Egoff Children’s Literature Prize in 1987.
Out Of the Blue- Sarah Ellis won two awards for Out of The Blue, the Mr. Christies Book Award in 1994 and the I.O.D.E. Violet Downey Award in 1995.
The Several Lives of Orphan Jack- She also won two awards for The Several Lives of Orphan Jack, the Mr. Christies Book Award in 2003 and the I.O.D.E. Violet Downey Award in 2004.
