Linnanen is a high fashion company based in Helsinki, Finland, specialised in the design and manufacture of reversible fur coats. It was founded by Helmi-Hanna Linnanen in 1939.

History
- In 1940s – Production commences during the autumn of 1939.
- In 1940-1950 – The main products were custom- and tailor made fur coats as well as “haute couture” for the demanding domestic clientele.
- In 1960-1970 – The production of reversible fur coats started.
- By the end of the 70’s – Linnanen started to design colourful fur coats with less weight; a rapid transition from a domestic studio to an international manufacturer and exporter.
- In 1980 – The first collection was presented in Japan. Export to Japan begins.
- In the beginning of 1990’s starts a change towards fashion coats. These utilised beautiful combination of high quality natural fabrics like silk and fur. The growth of export; the coats were sent to more than 10 countries.
- Today – Linnanen exports coats to over 20 countries. Main export markets include Far-East and Russia.
Design and materials
The coats are produced under the LINNANEN brand from natural fibres such as cashmere, silks, alpaca, and wool are combined with furs. Linnanen buys materials from the well known and official auctions and wholesalers, which can be traced to the levels of skin lots. Each coat bears customers personal coat number, in order to trace the material and production phases.
