He is a box to box midfielder that has excellent balance and plays with energy, pace and power. National team coach Bobby Williamson has described him as one of the best midfielders he has worked with and has all the attributes to play at the highest level.

Personal life
Owen played for the Standard Zana High School team that won the prestigious U17 Copa Coca Cola tournament in Uganda. His team included other National team players like Hassan Wasswa, Patrick Ochan, Vincent Kayizi and Joseph Kabagambe.[1]
Club career
Kampala City Council FC
Owen began his career with Kampala City Council FC and made his Ugandan Super League debut during the 2006-2007 season. In 2008 he was the clubs top goal scorer with 12 goals that helped the club with the league. He got rave reviews for his performances and was even labelled the best player.[2]
Bunamwaya SC
He was signed in 2009 by Lawrence Mulindwa who was building a team that consisted of the brightest young talents in Ugandan football with the likes of Godfrey Walusimbi, Ibrahim Juma and Mike Mutyaba.
International career
Owen was called up to the Cranes National U20 Team in 2007 and after only 2 games as captain he was promoted the full National team by Csaba László.
