Genre(s) Driving game Mode(s) Single-player Media/distribution ROM Cartridge Out Run Europa (known as Out Run Europe during development[1]), is a driving video game developed by Probe Software and published by U.S. Gold for the Amiga, Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, Commodore 64, Game Gear, Sega Master System and ZX Spectrum in 1991. It is a sequel to the arcade game Out Run, though unlike other games in the series, was not produced by Sega.
As the name suggests, levels in Out Run Europa are set across Europe, with the player passing road signs for places like Paris and Berlin. The player must escape from the police using a variety of vehicles, from the standard sports cars from Ferrari and Porsche to motorbikes and jet skis. Some levels arm the player with a weapon which can be used to destroy other vehicles. Unlike Turbo Outrun, some versions of the game feature forks in the road.
The Spectrum version was well received, with Your Sinclair awarding the game 83%, and praising the big sprites and smooth animation when compared to the original game[2]
